गुप्तहेर शेरलॉक होम्सचं नाव माहित नाही असा सुशिक्षित मनुष्य आजच्या काळात पृथ्वीवर कुठेही सापडणं जवळजवळ अशक्यच आहे. कारण ऑर्थर कॉनन डॉइल यांनी मूळ कथा जरी इंग्लिशमध्ये लिहील्या असल्या तरी आज मितीला त्यातल्या बर्‍याच कथा जगातल्या बहुतेक सर्व प्रमुख भाषांतून अनुवादित झालेल्या आहेत.
सदर पुस्तकात माझ्या कुमार वाचकांसाठी मी एकूण चार कथा सादर केल्या आहेत. ह्या आवडल्यास पुढेमागे आणखी काही कथांचा मराठीत परिचय करून देण्याचा विचार आहे.
